May 29, 2001. EYHKC webmaster and student Gordon Nore has hosted many demonstrations at public schools where he's taught After-Four Karate. This demo was very special because it was at Grenoble Public School in North York, where he served as a student teacher during his final practicum placement from York University. During his placement, he volunteered to teach a free, after-school Karate program at Grenoble. Mr Nore was assisted by his son Tucker and Mr Aldo Barovier, a teacher at Grenoble and a blue belt in Tae Kwon Do. You can click the smaller images to view larger ones. Aldo Barovier, Gordon Nore, and Tucker Axton-Nore. Mr Barovier, a teacher at Grenoble, is a student of Tae Kwon Do -- he is wearing a Korean Tae Kwon Do uniform (dobok). Mr Nore is wearing an official Hapkido uniform (dobok) -- the cross-stitching denotes armor worn by Korean sword-fighters. Tucker is wearing a standard Karate uniform (gi).

Mr Nore speaks to the Grenoble class at the beginning of the demonstration. Tucker is foreground, right.

Mr Nore demonstrates defenses from grabs on Mr Barovier.

Mr Nore and some students practise defenses from same-side wrist grabs.

Mr Barovier uses a knife-hand strike to break a board held by Mr Nore.

Here's a sample of the certificate awarded to the boys and girls, signed by Mr Nore and Sensei John Foster.
